Janie Fain is president of JF Interiors, Inc., the full-service residential and commercial interior design firm she founded in 1987. Her design training began at a young age, as she accompanied her mother to auctions, antique stores and flea markets. Her mother had an incredible eye and could always spot a true treasure – even if it was partially hidden by another object. These experiences shaped the way Fain looks at the world and taught her invaluable lessons about the details that transforms a exquisitely decorated room into one that is also inviting and timeless.

Her design philosophy is that interiors should be beautiful, comfortable and functional to make it a better place to live or work. She enjoys designing the rooms that will be most used, incorporating details that address how her clients will spend time in those spaces. As a result, she has become known for her stunning interiors that are both elegantly appointed and immensely livable.

Fain has been a featured designer in the Pasadena Showcase House of Design 10 times in the last 12 years and also has participated in the Little Company of Mary Showcase House in Palos Verdes, California. Her exquisite work for one showcase house was featured on the cover of the Spring 2000 issue of Traditional Homes Decorator Showhouse.

Today, Fain continues to work closely with her clients as she directs a staff of four talented designers who share her philosophy for creating interiors that enable gracious everyday living.
